WORLD PREMIERE OF "WE'LL TAKE CARE OF YOU"
A Documentary Film by Lattanzio Firmian and Alberto Baudo
On May 19 the Flint International Film Festival, in Flint, MI, is screening the world premiere of the documentary film titled "We'll Take Care Of You". The documentary is an Enronesque exposee' of the pharmaceutical industry, the FDA and the US health care industry.
As fans across the world may remember, Flint is the town rendered infamous by filmmaker Michael Moore in his first widely succesful documentary "Roger and Me".
Coincidentally, the very same day, thousands of miles away from home, across the Atlantic Ocean, in Cannes, France, Michael Moore is having the world premiere of "Sicko", his latest documentary film, denouncing the lapses of the US health system.
The documentary film "We'll Take Care Of You" by filmmakers Lattanzio Firmian and Alberto Baudo exposes the key players of the Vioxx scandal and uses Vioxx as the example of the modus operandi of Big Pharma.
Filmaker Lattanzio Firmian and investigative journalist Alberto Baudo show how the pharmaceutical industry markets killer drugs making billions in profits while victims are counted in the hundreds of thousand.
Payoffs to prescribers, to FDA committee members, to politicians and to scientists seem to be common industry practices. Threats to scientists and FDA officials who try to warn patients of deadly drug side effects, albeit less common, happen nevertheless, and are well recounted in this very informative, eye opening documentary.
Everyone taking prescription drugs will be deeply and forever touched by this documentary film.
