International Press Advisory - February 18, 2010....
Canadian Clergyman who Exposed Genocide against Natives and Forced Apologies from Church and State to Return to Europe, March 26 - April 26, 2010
Kevin Annett will be accompanied by Aboriginal Survivors who will describe atrocities and confront the Pope in Rome
Annett's group will visit Italy, Ireland, England and Germany to hold the church responsible for its crimes....
Breaking News:
In the wake of a growing international abuse scandal rocking the Roman Catholic Church, the clergyman who first exposed crimes by that church against aboriginal children in North America will be returning to Europe in late March for a month, to help bring the church to justice.
Rev. Kevin Annett, the human rights activist and film maker who forced apologies for Indian residential school crimes from the Canadian government in 2008, and from the Vatican in 2009, will be accompanied by two aboriginal survivors of these schools who witnessed the killing and burial of children by nuns and priests.
Rev. Annett and his group will meet with other survivors of church crimes, hold public memorial services for the children who died, and make presentations to politicians and human rights groups to win European support for an international Tribunal into crimes against humanity by both Catholic and Protestant churches.
Last October in Rome, Rev. Annett held the first public memorial service for aboriginal victims of the Catholic Church in St. Peter's square. Now, as then, his trip is jointly sponsored by human rights groups in Italy and Ireland, and his own network, The Friends and Relatives of the Disappeared (FRD).
Rev. Annett and his group will tour Italy, England, Ireland and Germany, and will hold public rallies and meetings, screenings of their documentary film Unrepentant, and press conferences at all of their venues.
Here is a tentative itinerary of their tour:
March 26 - April 10: in Italy
- A rally in Memory of the Disappeared Children will be held by the group in St. Peter's Square in Rome during Good Friday and Easter Sunday, April 2-4
- Besides Rome, similar events and meetings will be held in Genoa, Turin, Milan, Florence, Parma and Reggio Emilia
April 10 - 14: in England
- Rallies will be held outside Westminster Abbey and the Canadian Embassy in London on April 11 and 12, and a Letter of demand will be presented to the Queen of England as head of the Anglican Church....
April 14-18: in Ireland....
- A rally for the victims of the church in Ireland will be held at 12 noon on April 15 outside the Dail Eireann (Parliament) in Dublin, in conjunction with local survivors' groups; a public meeting will follow in downtown Dublin that evening
April 19-26: in Germany....
- Public actions, film screenings and meetings are scheduled to occur in Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen, Leipzig and Munich, and other cities....
More specific information on these events can be provided by the local organizers of this tour. Please contact this email for the names and emails of these people, and for further updates.

This comes as a surprise. Didn't know that.
Generally, what I find so painful about official apologies is that you know they're insincere. Organisations with a poweful head can't be changed in that way, so one shouldn't have hight expectations. An official apology could even convince people to remain part of such an organisation, calming their conscience. If I were Kevin Annett, with a history of being oppressed and intimidated by the church, I wouldn't even try to have a dialogue with them anymore.
... And Olympia 2010 in Canada surely will be a great commercial success. _________________ "Hey bulb! We don't like your type around here!"
