This link has an awesome video of monks constructing a sand mandala by hand over 6 days.
Afterwards, half of the sand is passed out to people, and the other half is poured into a river to bless the entire earth.
My first thoughts on this: Are the monks charging the sand through their consciousness/intention during the intense 6 day construction period?
I post this to get you thinking about intention programming. It takes many forms and it is powerful. |

From Rob10,
I would imagine that the sand is charged or imprinted with an intention from the monks because of the contemplative/meditative state they are in when they create the Mandala. However mandalas are by their very nature charged with a purpose - each mandala being unique and each pattern having a specific purpose.
I love the whole process of devotion followed by monks who create these sand mandalas - it embodies the very core of their faith in that it is something that benefits others, whilst being impermanent - the very nature of the sand mandala is transient - a lesson in non-attachment - something to be appreciated whilst it is being made and to remember when it is gone, which is almost as soon as the process of creating it finishes... _________________ Thank you for supporting WarriorMatrix at:
